David Spears

Pastor David and his family are Tennessee natives and have been living  in the Sumner County area for the last 17 years.

Brother David has been a bi-vocational pastor since 2004 which means he works a secular job as well as pastoring a church. Being bi-vocational has given him wonderful opportunities to meet people in various situations and towns and when appropriate share how his life has been touched by our Lord and Savior.  God blessed him with a secular position working in Westmoreland, TN as the Director of Spirituality at Westmoreland Care and Rehabilitation which allows him to reach residents, employees, and families that live in this area and surrounding.

Pastor David and his wife Sharon were married May 1999 and together have six children and five grandchildren.  In their spare time, they like to spend time with family and friends.  Whenever possible, he likes to ride his tractor, play the drums, or just to read a good book to continue growing his spiritual walk.

Brother David  and his wife served 7 years as the associate pastor for Lafayette First Assembly and together they worked with the youth, children's church, praise and worship team, and anything else the Pastor needed.  During this time Brother David attended the Tennessee School of Ministry and became an Ordained Minister.  God lead him with the blessings from Lafayette First Assembly March 2011 to plant a church in Westmoreland, TN called Destination Outreach Church which currently meets at 8:30am every Sunday.

This has been a very exciting time and Brother David continually seeks direction from the Lord on his ministry.  God confirmed with Pastor David that he wanted to expand his borders of ministry and has added Lafayette First Assembly.  The congregation at Lafayette is such a wonderful family of Christian people who love the Lord and want to reach out to the Macon County area and surrounding.  How special it is to have the founding church that supported Brother David in his education and planting of a Destination Outreach Church to be an extension of his ministry.  He has such a passion and great love for serving the Lord and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ that he is honored to have the opportunity to serve the Lord at all three locations.  Brother David will be preaching at Lafayette First Assembly at 11:00 am every Sunday and 7:00pm every Wednesday.

Pastor David is excited to see what God has planned and how through each ministry he will reach the lost, heal the hurting, and bless abundantly the people in these communities.
