Here at First Assembly we work to make our church all about God and His people! We want to invite you to attend one of our spirit filled Sunday morning services. So take a tour through our website to see what we have to offer your family.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together; as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25KJV
Pastor David Spears and his wife Sharon would like to personally invite you to join us at Lafayette First Assembly! We look forward to your visit and optimistic you will experience a life changing encounter with our Lord and Savior!
Pastor David has served 34 years in ministry with 11 of those years being in the Lafayette Community. In addition to leading LFA, he is a funeral director at Sellars Funeral Home, giving him opportunities to meet people in all walks of life and to minister at their point of need.
Pastor David and his wife Sharon have been blessed with six children and eight grandchildren that make their life complete. Achieving his Ordination through the Tennessee School of Ministry was a highlight in his life, fulfilling God’s plan for him to become a senior pastor. This has been a very exciting time and Brother David continually seeks direction from the Lord on his ministry.
The congregation at Lafayette is such a wonderful family of Christian people who love the Lord and want to reach out to the Macon County area and surrounding. Being a servant leader is important to Pastor David and his family, and encourages the congregation to show God’s love through compassion for others. Community involvement is a priority with our congregation and have been blessed to meet needs in Lafayette by partnering with Convoy of Hope to provide food/supply boxes as well as deliver shoes to elementary age students in two Macon County Schools.
Pastor David has such a passion and great love for serving the Lord and preaching the good news of Jesus Christ that he is honored to have the opportunity to reach the lost, heal the hurting, and bless abundantly the people in these communities.
Thank you for taking time to consider Lafayette First Assembly, we look forward to seeing you soon.
Our Sunday morning services begin with adult Sunday school at 9:00 a.m. that will aid you in expanding your knowledge of God’s word and will allow you to do this with other loving church members by your side. Then, our Sunday Morning worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. with a unique and spirit filled worship service that will allow you to enter into God’s presence like never before. After worship you will be filled with an amazing word from our pastor that is founded on the truth of God’s word and is applied to everyday life and its challenges. Also on Sunday Morning’s we have Kingdom Kids which is a great ministry for children in grades K-6. In their class they will get to experience God’s word in a way that is impactful, exciting, and unlike anything they have ever experienced. Kingdom Kid’s encourages your children to learn about God’s word and to fall in love with coming to church to worship Him.
Have a special prayer request? Come and go as you please to our Thursday evening prayer service starting at 6PM to pray.
Much like the Women’s ministry, we are excited to have Chad Swindle leading the Men’s Ministry. With monthly events (2nd Sunday each month following morning service), all men are invited to come and fellowship. Here, we can learn more about one another and more about God.
So excited to have Sharon Spears leading the Women’s Ministry. She is on fire for God and has a passion to see women grow in the word of God. She has planned monthly (2nd Sunday each month following morning service) events to encourage fellowship, personal growth, and a closer relationship with God.
All children are welcome to join sister Sharon Sunday morning following praise and worship downstairs for Kingdom Kids.
Smaller children can also play in the nursery during service. Services are viewable from the nursery as well.
Before services, please stop by the Gathering Place to have some refreshments. We typically have coffee and donuts before Sunday morning services.
We ask that all refreshments except water be kept out of the sanctuary. Thank You!
We are a part of the Matthew 25 Ministries along with several churches in the surrounding areas. Our collective goal is to unite and spread the gospel while aiding those in our communities.
